Hemchandracharya
North Gujarat University has been standing tall in
the mute testimony of the historical city of Patan
since 1986.
The objective for
establishing the university is to meet the cultural
and educational need of the region. Since inception,
the university has maintained the pace of steady
growth and expansion. Patan, described as Anhilpura
in 'Kumarpalarasa' Stands in the testimony of the
glorious 'Solanki Era' as the Capital of the Greater
Gujarat for about six hundred years from 8th to the
14th Century.
The University
campus is located 130 kms from Ahmedabad in a
sprawling campus, spread over an area of 227 acres
amidst deep serenity. The university is motley of 19
Post-Graduate Departments which are funded by the
State Government. The University runs Self-Financed
courses viz. Social Works, Physical Educational,
Computer Application & Information Technology,
Journalism, Physics and Library & Information
Science. It also provides part-time certificate
courses in Vedic Astrology. Since its inception,
Hemchandracharya North Gujarat University has been
striving to develop itself into an institution of
excellence in education in consonance with the
contemporary and future needs of India. The
University has 75 Grant in Aid affiliated colleges
and 157 self finance affiliated college with a
massive strength of more than 1,00,000 students. The
well-built, superior and efficiently maintained
infrastructure fortifies the efficacy of the
university. The in-campus amenities and facilities
for the students,teaching and administrative staff
have been created in the university as well.
Sedulously built, Central
Library posses an
array of wide ranged books, journals and
periodicals. A cyber café for exclusive use of
students and the university staff has been
established. 'Rang Bhavan', the University
Auditorium, well equipped with all modern amenities
has been erected for co-curricular and academic
activities. The University has a health centre which
provides excellent health care to teachers,non-teaching
staff and students. It has developed physical
education and sports infrastructure in the campus
covering 40 acres of land providing all the
facilities for sports. Facility of hostel for girls
and boys is also available in the University Campus.
With the efforts of current
Vice-Chancellor
Shri K. K. Shah, National Assessment and
Accreditation Council has declared 'B' Grade
Accreditation to the University. Thus, University
attempts to achieve high standards of excellence in
all its academic as well as co-curricular and
extension activities.

addition in the list of ever progressing departments
in the Hemchandracharya North Gujarat University
situated in the historical city of Patan. The

Hemchandracharya North Gujarat University
has taken a lead in Gujarat to introduce an
extremely valued Post Graduate course of
Hospital Management. The University
envisages to introduce many such
professional courses from time to time which
will go a long way not only in fulfilling
the demand of corporate and industry but
also reduce significantly the acute shortage
of such trained professionals, create
numerous job opportunities and thus fulfill
the aspirations of students. The aim is to
bring the best in academia, industry
interface and infrastructure to build a

increasingly privatized there is a greater
need for not only skillful doctors but also
efficient hospital administrators. New
realities are placing pressures on the
healthcare industry, and how patient care is
delivered. Rising hospital management costs,
an aging population, a shortage of
healthcare workers, challenges in accessing
services, timely availability of
information, issues of safety and quality,
and rising consumerism are some of the facts
of today's healthcare system. It entails
greater importance of Hospital
Administrator. We strive to provide
